The end has begun, but has not ended. Yet.

No one was meant to survive the Cataclysm, and yet a chosen few did.

Why?

Can there be hope in a hopeless time?

These are just some of the burdens on the mind of Moonlight Ioponi, one of the few survivors of an apocalypse that destroyed almost everything in Equestria and all of its multidimensional variants. Haunted by dreams of the fallen, guided by the ghost of a princess and supported by the allies she will make, Moonlight and her two brothers journey through the blasted wastelands of Equestria, searching for answers.

Along the way, they will meet dragons, ancient spirits, timelords, oracles of dread omens, soldiers and scientists. Help will be drawn from the most obscure places as they will be joined by a lumberjack, a strange slime creature, a crazy rubber pony, a royal cousin of a princess and a psychopath with a guitar obsession.

Their quest will take them through lifeless deserts, dark forests, hellish firepits and the tormented netherrealm of "The Deadzone." They will encounter diamond dog slavers, psychoponies and all manner of wasteland monsters and must battle through them all to reach the truth.

But their biggest challenge shall be to face the living embodiment of death and destruction itself. The being who wills the end and has the power to bring it about. A being who could only be restrained when the elements of harmony and the princesses gave their lives to halt it, and even then it remains undefeated. The sickened, twisted hybrid of a set of once kind hearts, now reduced to an evil husk. It has many names, but one has become a tenfold curse upon ponykind:

The Maneiac.

Should Moonlight defeat this monster, then universal balance shall be restored and all the evil the Maneiac has performed will be undone. Should she fail, then the universe will be plunged into a chaotic hell beyond all imagining.
